"Only through our connectedness with others can we really learn and enhance the self. And only through working on the self can we begin to enhance our connectedness to others."

About

About Mandy Kraft

(she/they)

I am a masters level social worker trained in clinical counselling, and have over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. While I spent many years as a social worker in oncology and palliative care, the last few years I have worked in private practice with specific focus on relationship and sex therapy, and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming therapy. I also am available for consultation and education.

At the heart of my practice, I am person-centred, non-judgmental, warm, and authentic. Therapy with me is collaborative, focusing on your goals, your feedback, and using a diversity of evidence-based methods to treat the problems you want to address.

I encourage you to read more about me, my approach, and my professional experience so you can get a better sense of what I am like to work with.

Sex therapy helps people discuss sex, sexuality, and sexual health, in an open, honest, and non-judgmental way. I support individuals and couples address a wide variety of concerns that can sometimes be difficult to talk about. Nothing is off limits to discuss, and we work together to come up with goals to work towards, and how to best meet those goals.

Individual Counselling

I offer general mental health counselling to all individuals regardless of identity. If you think we would be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am neurodivergent friendly. I have extensive experience working with the emotional aspect of medical concerns, cancer survivorship, caregiving, grief, loss, and bereavement, and I am competent in working with mood disorders and substance use issues.

In relationship counselling, I act as a neutral third party to support people navigate challenges, improve communication, and strengthen connection. Together, we work towards building healthier and more fulfilling relationships.  I work with all types of relationships: monogamous, nonmonogamous, polyamorous, kinky, straight, mixed orientation, queer, etc.

Family Counselling

In family counselling I work with all parties towards greater understanding, communication, and connection. While families are not my primary area of focus, I occasionally work with families in various capacities, including navigating illness, death, transition, or sexual and gender identity. I typically only work with youth age 16+, and I do not get involved in high conflict custody disputes.

I am a safe provider of all people within the gender and sexual minority umbrella. I have lived experience as a queer woman, and regularly work with people of all sexual and gender identities. Whether you're looking to specifically explore sexual or gender identity, or looking for a safe and compassionate provider to navigate other mental health concerns, you can be assured that the work we do together will be respectful and informed.

Education and Consultation

I offer education and consultation in the areas of sexuality, sexual health, and alternative lifestyles. Services can be tailored to audiences of mental health, health, or medical professionals, social service or health organizations, university students, or the general public. Topics I provide education in include but are not limited to: sexual health, sexual orientation, gender identity, aging/older adults and sexuality, kink and BDSM, nonmonogamy/polyamory, and sexual pleasure.
